    Why buy from eBay when you can still get it worldwide? 0_0 Lol.

    Anyway, PlayNC is the company that published Guild Wars, they have the cheapest prices practically. So if you are able to purchase online, best and safest bet would be their site.

    CD-Key protection is extremely though too: GW really has thought of everything. =P The cd-key is inside the CD case, which is wrapped, and inside a cardboard box. One you get that case open, you need to scratch it for the CD-Key to appear. =)

    Again, it depends on what you want. I bought the normal Guild Wars, but if you really like the collector edition packages you should get the latter.

    Pariah review! Tis long.

    Graphics: Pariah’s graphics are excellent and the effects are stunning. However… since it’s built on the “old” UT2004 engine, obviously it pales in comparison to the recent FPSes released such as Half Life 2 and Doom III. The character designs are marvelous and there are some excellent indoor level designs. The weapons and environments really give this game a gritty realistic sci-fi feel. That said, you really need to see the explosion effects and destructible environments… =D One major gripe about the game is that it was obvious it was being developed with XBOX in mind. Everything seems so ‘big’. However, since I played the multiplayer demo I already knew how to remedy this problem, by pulling down the console and typing “fov 100”.

    Gameplay: This is where the game fails to live up to the hype. Keep in mind this game was developed by Digital Extremes. These are the same guys who developed the groundbreaking Unreal and Unreal Tournament and laid the foundations for fragfest games. The enemy AI is very redundant at the start and you get the feeling that some how Digital Extreme half arsed the gameplay and spent all the time on their effects. =) However, later on in the game the AI improves significantly and you’ll actually find it challenging… however it is still uneven. Some enemies will stand in front of you doing nothing, while others will attempt to flank and take cover. It also doesn’t help that the enemies appear out of nowhere.

    About the much touted weapon system… all the weapons in the game are the same damn weapons that appear in every game. You have the shotgun, the rocket launcher, the machinegun, sniper rifle etc. So you ask… what about the upgrades, aren’t they supposed to make the weapons interesting? Nah. The weapon upgrade system is definitely interesting, while the weapon upgrades themselves are boring and uninspired. In fact, the whole game is pretty uninspired. One interesting feature is the healing system. Instead of walking over medkits you get a healing tool, and it is definitely a change to be ducking behind cover trying to frantically heal yourself.

    This is probably one of the most linear games I’ve ever played, BUT they even manage to mess this up with vague mission objectives. I’m not exaggerating when they plonk you in the middle of 3 huge buildings and tell you to “Open the Gate.”, yet none of the doors on each of the buildings open and the switch is actually in some small tiny outpost 5 miles away.

    Sound: The sound department in this game has it highs and lows. The weapons sound extremely satisfying and all the other little things sound fitting and in place. On the other side the voice acting sounds as if the actors were being dragged out of their Sunday morning and forced to read the script.

    Storyline: Let me put it this way, for a script that’s written by a Hollywood director, it ain’t good. Most of the time you have little idea of what is going on, and the plot is so broken and dull that you don’t care. You’re thrust head first into a plot that you have no idea what is going on, and plainly, the game doesn’t want to make you care. =(

    Conclusion: I’ve read a couple reviews of this, and I’ve seen a familiar pattern. This was obviously developed for the XBOX in mind, and that is why XBOX reviews scored quite high, while the PC reviews received a mediocre score. And I absolutely agree. For an XBOX FPS, it may have been excellent, but for the PC where FPSes are as common as dirt, this is mediocre effort. Multiplayer is a blast though.

    DoD: Source trailers! Can you say YAY? Remember they said they were going to improve the deploying system? I think it’s TOO improved now… look at how fast it deploys. IMO the MG is too overpowered now. Sandbags are NOW deployable on both sides, and sandbags are near spawn. Go figure.
