okay here is a quick problem. For some reason my girlfriends computer which I use often, the cd-rom will open on boot up of the computer then close and do the same maybe two more times and then stay open....the green light flashes a couple of times each time it opens and closes...I put different cd's in there but it will always open and stay open...any idea what could have caused this it was fine last week and I came back after a few days away and now it will not work. It is a retailplus+ 16x10x40 writer. thank you very much for your help
Maybe the eject function seen a ghost? Doesn't sound good m8. If this keeps up consider another burner (Lite-ON)= excellent burners! But seriuous sounds like the mechanism is jammed on the spot of open? like you know you can push the tray to close it! well bit of plastic come adrift in side maybe? its not clicking shut on insertion...
