if you have XP with service pack2 you will be asked if you would like to open ports when you run a program for the first time. If not find out the ports Emule uses (probly tell you on the same site you downloaded the emule software) and open them in your firewall settings. With xp firewall you selct add port in the exceptions tab of firewall settings - your firewaal may be a bit dfferent.

The firewall i have running is hardware, there isn't any program that come with it, i have however found a program that i downloaded from the makers site, it's designed for gamming purposes and it allows me to open ports which i've done and now working fine.
    Cheers for the reply haimback.
