I HAVE A 7 MONTH OLD CONTRACT WITH DIRECT TV AND 4 OF THERE BOXES 2 OF WHICH RECORD. BOTH RECORDER BOXES NO LONGER WORK AND ARE OUT OF WARRANTY. MY QUESTION IS , ARE THERE ANY COMPATIBLE PVR'S THAT I CAN BUY AND INSTALL MYSELF. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR ANY HELP CHIP
If those are the R15 model DVR's and you are leasing them, they ARE covered by the lease agreement, and you should be able to get them replaced at no cost. If the first person you speak to tells you no ask to speak with their supervisor. I know because I work for a primary DirecTv contractor as a field tech. Call them up and ask to speak to someone in the Equipment Replacement Program dept. On that note, what exactly is wrong the the ones you have? I may be able to troubleshoot for you. Give me some more info aon what they are doing, what the behavior is.
