while putting back the speakers in my car i accidentaly touched the negative and positive speaker wire and now when i connect the speakers they just thump.... sound: thump... thump... thump etc. any idea what it could be? a already checked the fuse by my batt. and the fuse in the amp and their perfectly fine... also checked the ground and its also fine
blown output stage.. probably short circuit causing the protection circuit to power cycle.. not repairable except by a professional electronics person.
if i take it to fix will it be worth it??? or am i better off getting a new one??? also i dont feel like like making a new thread so here is another question... what kind of amp would be good for the inside speakers... im gettin component speakers for the front and back... not sure what type yet... i know it will be 6x9 in the rear and 6 1/2" in the front
how do I know if it will be worth it? You don't say what it is, just what it isn't doing. same for speakers.. no power rating or db/w rating.. so like.. eh? .. no suggestions possible.
yes what kind of amp is it? for door speakers, which don't really require much power as compared to subwoofers, I really like the 4 channel sony amplifiers. alpine makes decent ones as well. don't buy rockford fosgate. they are good but WAY overpriced because of the name brand.
amp is a kenwood kac-8103 2channel 1000w max power... as for speakers i dont know what to get as of yet... thats why i wanted some recommendations... i was told component speakers all around would be good.... what you guys think??? btw i am getting a rockford fosgate t-1 12' subwoffer if that helps decide on the regular speakers... i just want to be able to hear the lyrics with the bass the t-1 will give out
I don't see a kac-8103 two channel amp, but there is a kac-8103D mono amp...is that what you have? If you have shorted it out, it would probably be best to just get a new one...kenwood doesn't make the best amps anyways.
i think it is the one i have... well i guess i will just get a new one... anything you recommend? something that will push a t1
I have an alpine mono sub amp that powers my 12" JL Audio sub and I've been very happy with the sound quality. the most important thing is matching the RMS wattage with the amp and sub. you don't want an amp that isn't powerful enough but at the same time you don't want one that has a much higher RMS output than what your sub can handle
