android and networking

    Hi ,
    I am trying to connect a Samsung Galaxy pad to a WD TV streaming box.The pad has android software on it.I can pick up the household network no problems,but I want to connect the Galaxy to the WDTV streaming box.Basically so I can plug my external HDD into the WDTV box and view my files.I can view the WDTV box from my desktop and my laptops,but cant connect it to the the galaxy pad.
    Any ideas???
