Android box stopped reading external hard

Hello
I have a M8S android box and i had it for about 6 or 7 months. It is working fine but i came across one problem which started about 2 or 3 days ago. It stopped recognizing my external hard drive that i am use to having attached to it. I've have searched high and low with for a solution but to no avail. Is there anything i can do to get it to recognize the hard drive again. I made sure that it wasnt the external whenever i plug it into my desktop or plug it into another android box i havein my bedroom. Thanks a million
