I'm trying to find the ultimate solution to my problem, a DVD player that will play DVD-R and DVD+R disks and convert from PAL to NTSC automaticly. I've read that this dvd player, the Philips DVP642 plays everything, but I haven't read much about whether or not it converts from PAL to NTSC. I have a lot of movies on DVD+R disks that are in PAL format that I cannot watch on my home TV system. The Cyberhome was a joke, worst playback I've seen from a player. So I'm looking for another one. I've read on Amazon that some of these players are in fact not region free... and I've read that many fail withing a few weeks/months, and that the warranty and customer support is terrible. Anyone had any experience with that being true? Thanks, everyone!
Hi, I have had this player for about 9 months and it's great.It plays my dvd-r discs no problem. It also plays my region 2 pal discs no problem.My tv was a normal NTSC.You can go to www.vcdhelp.com for more info.on this layer.
