Hi Goggon, I just received the Box Twin Tuner for Christmas but have the same problem as you had. I am a novice in this area and plead ignorance. I am sure i have cables in the correct positions. I have tried the loop as suggested by paulhac but no joy. when I go to check the cable network to see if i am scanning on the correct network N*L ireland the installation menu does not supply this 'cable network'option. All i am offered is auto or manual scan. I have scanned at least 6-10 times but get 0 channels. N*L boosted the signal as one or two channels were very poor but these are OK now. When i sacan 100% the level and quality are 0%. Also I have UNLOCK in right hand side.Is this OK?
Hi If you goto Menu/Installation you should have 4 options. Cable Network, Auto Scan, Manual Scan, and Advanced Scan. If you don't have 4 option you have wrong software installed. If you do have the 4 options when you have Cable Network highlighted in Yellow use the right arrow button on your remote to scroll through to your Cable supplier, then Autoscan. To update software and how too goto the link below and look in the Starview_PVR folder and read plenty in the Documentation folder. http://eko.4shared.com/ jbvid
First go to Menu/System Setup/System Information and if your software is 4.5 or similar it is ok. (If not go here read plenty and update software from The Starview PVR folder) http://eko.4shared.com/ Make sure your cable supply lead is in the correct socket at the back as there are 6 and its easy to get in the wrong one and don't forget to fit a short link cable between tuners to get both tuners working. Then Menu/Installation/ Select your Cable network using right/Left arrow on remote, ie ntl,tw,ex c&w etc, then down to autoscan and wait untill finished.
@Celtic71 &Dublin4 Hi Celt Thats roughly what I told him to do but got no response/thanks/reply. Sorry to Dublin4 but it pees me off when I try to help people and they either don't or can't be bothered to read or respond to it. Change of subject 'Happy New Year' to all. jbvid
Hi jbvid , Happy new year to you too I understand where you are coming from and some people just cant be arsed reading , they need to be spoon fed
Hi Celtic71/jbvid, Happy New Year to both of you. I appreciate what you are doing for me but the delay in getting back to you is due to sickness. I have gone into system information and got following: UK PVR 5000 Dual Recorder, ver 1.134, 18 Jan 2007 I will try and do as you have suggested but unlike you guys I am a novice in this area regarding electronic gadgets and software loadind and unloading. I do not understand what you mean by connecting the two tuners. Where are the two tuners? I told you I was a novice!!
Hi Sorry Celtic71 and myself can't help you any more because you obviously arn't reading any of our previous posts, apart from that it wants newer software loading into it as we have BOTH told you to check and how to do it before. jbvid
