i just installed msn messenger. I tried to sign on but it said i wasnt on the net. I was confused because i just checked my email so i did a little research turns out because i got an ecu (free uni connection) connection and its got a network firewall thing. Unfortunatly i cant run it through AOL 7.0. Any ideas on how to fix it?

Ad-aware is ok, but eg. M$ AntiSpyware, ewido and spy sweeper are better for spy/adware.

Would it be a good idea to have 2 anti-virus programs (or spyware/adware) to extra security as oppose to one or would one just interfere with the other?

    what about avast vs AVG??
im using avast and seem to like it, i've heard a ton about AVG. should i switch or is it just personal preference?
what are some of the benifits/disadvantages and differences between the two?

I started using avast! antivirus a few days ago and i noticed that the last time a new update was available was on 1-3-06...
do i want something that updates more frequently? doesnt it only updating every few days put me at risk?
What other free antivirus would anyone suggest that will update more often and is as good or better than avast?

    Hello Guys,

Now that AVG is going to discontinue the Free Edition as of Jan 1, 2007 what do you suggest that is comparable (and Free).

I got the advise from AVG this morning before the program updated itself. I am using Avira now but it will expire in February of 2007 as well. I guess another program will be out soon to replace these 2. We can only hope they will be as good as the current AVG.

    Hello pazzini,

You are totally right!!! I guess next time I need to read the fine print. AVG will continue to be free if you upgrade to 7.5.
