Anybody know of any good deals (preferably in local stores in USA) on blank good quality CD-Rs like TY? I know back in the day I used to get free or real cheap after rebate deals but I haven't seen these in a long time. I haven't found a need to get a DVD burner yet if blank DVDs are cheaper per megabyte than CD-Rs, looks like I may have to put my CD-RW drive into retirement.

    Thanks in advance.

Walgreens has Sony color CDR's (30 pack) on sale for $9 until the 11th. A friend of mine just bought a 100 pack of Sony CDR's from Fry's for $10. Haven't tested one so no idea who really makes the discs.

Best Buy had Maxell 50 pack color CDR's (made by Ritek) for $13 a few days ago.

GQ (CDR's made by LeadData) is often on sale at Fry's in the $4 to $5 range. It seems to burn ok in both my Plextor 716-A DVD burner & also my TDK 52x VeloCD CDRW drive up to 48x.

I don't know what off the shelf CDR's (right now) that are made by TY. I get my TY's direct from either Rima, Meritline or Supermediastore whoever has them cheaper that day.

But then I don't use CDR's for data now. Only audio & I keep the speed down below 32x for audiodisc burning. DVD's (at mynhome) are only used for data. I converted all of my data CDR's (about 250 or so) to DVD's. Took awhile!

Oh & any computer DVD (burner) drive will also burn CDR's...
