Sounds right, you would have had 13 TPs on N** cable, guess you moved recently. 9 TPs is right for your area, have you tried the on board booster? I dont think it will make that much difference and you may have to try an external booster.

Your problem lies in the fact that you are on a communal MMDS feed so the signal is degraded enough and then add on all the splits throughout the complex. The subbed box will cope with this to a point well better than the EV will.

As said an external booster may help, but if you are at the end of a noisy feed it may actually make it worse so maybe a booster with an attenuated slope control may be the best bet. This way you can manually try to balance the signal. All I can say is I dont envy you with that type of feed.

Thanks, the strange thing is i havent moved at all, guess the signsl must be downgraded or more on it i suppose. its only really happened since i reflashed it about a month ago.
two really quick questions to finish with..
    1. is it worth plugging back in ntl box, ringing them and asking them to boost the signal, or is that just bullshit.
    2. Where could i get one of those boosters you recommend, are they expensive and easy to install.

Listen i really appreciate the time and advice, it restores my faith in humanity!
    thanks

Greystones has either been N** MMDS so only 9TPs , (well unless they upgraded it massively and I dont know about it, :) ) or it is also Ch**us cable which is analogue only.

The problem with putting the N** box back in is it will probably be fine. But you could give it a go but I would say someone has moved you around either at the cab or the internal distribution point and may have weakened your signal. Or has someone added a tap or attenuator? BTW have you checked all your own connections?

Signal boosters come in all shapes and prices but a good low end one with slope control would be the best choice, try Maplins or Argos.

ok will try those options. Guess I'll have to plug ntl box back in for gilmore girls tomorrow morning!
Thanks again for all this, reckon I'll pop into Maplins in town and grab the booster later in the week.
Cheers and again appreciate the help.
