i guess maybe you were wanting me to see the rip dvd to hd? I saw it. I have already sent the disk back, so I can not try that. I will get the movie again and try it. Have you seen The Cave? I like it, I think mainly though because of the diving in the caves.
I have yet to find a movie that can not be backed up with CloneDVD2 and AnyDVD in the background. If you regularly backup movies, this is the best money you could ever spend. Oh Oh is right on by the way.
@wildrat CloneDVD and AnyDVD both have killed all the films that you have mentioned. I have yet to see a DVD that was not defective which could not be backed up with these two programs.
arnie i did do that right clicked the fox and i do not have that option. i must have a old version of anydvd. but then again i am still useing the trial version also, i have 9 days left on the trial. that might explain my problems with these two movies. without purchaseing anydvd right now how would i get a update for the trial version. i dont want to purchase something that is giving me these problems. im sure im not useing bad media.(useing 8x verbatim).i did about 15 mvies this weekend and only these 2 have caused me problems.chicken little and stuart little3.
You should be able to update your trial to the newest which is 5.9.4.1, this was released 2/24 so you should have this version.
blivenc I tried to burn the film again, same error message. I have just gone out and udated all the firmware so I will try again tomorrow. Thanks
Well after reading the newbie read this post, I went and updated my firmware for the drive. I had done this earlier in the week, but I guess it must have been an older update. So anyway I was able to make a backup of the film. It's playing now. I also downloaded the rec'd S/W. Pretty Cool. Thanks Again. Oh Yea, it only took 10m:18s for clonedvd to do the task.
You need to run msconfg, and go to startup and uncheck some of the things you do not want to start at startup. Also your antivirus software can slow your machine down. I run Avast and it'll make ya think you have an old Commodore 64 it's so slow. With Avast you just need to do some tweaking to get your machine going again.
When I do try to delete some stuff from startup, I get error messages. So much stuff is abbreviated, that I don't know whaT IS What.
go up toward the top of the table and expand the columns by putting your pointer on the dividing lines and single click and hold and move the line to the right to expand the column or to the left to decrease it's size. By doing this it will allow the words that are abbreviated to become full words. Hope this makes sense to ya.
If you are not sure what the stuff in msconfig, startup does, you can check them out at http://www.sysinfo.org/startuplist.php it tells you which application they run for, whether you need to leave them on or not and whether they are harmful. hope this helps
dabig it wont hurt to deselect all reboot and the stuff your PC has to have will start .have you been doing a disc cleanup and defragging at least once a week? this is a must if your ripping lots of dvds ,with your system you should be able to transcode and burn a dvd in 20 to 25 mins. at the most
Also Thanks rafigold & aabbccdd Yes, I do disk clean up & defrag about every 2 weeks. I only back up a dvd 1 or 2 times a week....
