Greetings! Yes, there is a hijacked version of CloneDVD called CloneDVD3 from www.clonedvd.net that is garbage. Please see my post regarding this issue. It's becoming a huge problem because people are getting ripped off by buying the wrong product. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/201330 Regards...Aa
Thanxs for the insight. I dont have 3 i have 1 and 2. I used 2 yesterday i found it roughly the same as one
> My question was what is the diffrences Between the Clone DVD 1 & 2 < Among many, many changes and improvements: CloneDVD2 can split disks CloneDVD2 has a quality bar in the stream selection CloneDVD2 can write to Dual Layer disks etc... But why do you want to know? Just update. The update is - and always has been - FREE!!!!! Yes!!!! FREE!!!!
Hey Borhan, Oops, was too busy providing a public service re: the hijacked CloneDVD. There are tons of differences between the two products, if the revision history of 2.xx alone is any indication. You can view the entire revision for 2.xx (but not 1, its no longer relevant to most customers) at http://www.elby.ch If you have some deep, burning question regarding the differences between 1 & 2, why not contact the developers directly? Same URL as above. They're terrific guys and will respond. Cheers...Aa
@iatik: >They're terrific guys and will respond. < Thank you! They already did, in the post above yours.
@iatik Thanxs for that I was just wondering cause the look was roughly the same thanxs ill take a look at the site
Creaky and others, Please, Avoid the look alike like the plague! There is only one, true CloneDVD. I've posted in the forums about the hijacking of CloneDVD's good name and their international trademark. The imposter is hiding behind the Chinese gov't's protection and it is an inferior product. Don't be fooled! http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/201330 Please read this before you waste your money on an inferior and unsupported product. CloneDVD3 is NOT CloneDVD 2.xx from Elaborate Bytes - http://www.elby.ch or http://www.slysoft.com. Aa
cheers, that was what i was getting at originally, i thought there was a ripoff version of a good product, i just couldn't remember exactly which one it was
Hi all, I'm a very happy user of clone CD, DVD, AnyDVD but I'm having lots of trouble trying to make a backup of a Dictionary on CD-ROM I use practically every day before it turns into a very expensive coaster... A-Ray scanner says it's secuROM 4.84.00.0001 I'm dealing with. I tried downloading specific profiles (secuROM NEW and SecuROM 4.x) from a couple of sites but nothing seems to work... All I need to tell the truth is a working image. What I do is I load images of my CD-ROM dictionaries with my VirtualSheep and work with those instead of scratching my originals into smithereens.. any of you know how to bypass [Bold]SecuROM 4.84?[/bold] thank you for your help..
Just a question to all Why is the second page of this forum not the normal layout??? I tried to edit my sig.. but its not that soo im not sure whos post made it go out of wack slightly??
can anyone help me i have tried dvdshrink and dvddecrypt but have problems with the copy jumping or stopping usually towards the end of the disk
Securom can be prickly (aren't they all as they race against the unencryptors...LOL!!). CloneDVD/AnyDVD are usually totally excellent about being completely up to date on Securom encryption. So, as McCoy suggests, check your burn media first by trying a different brand. There is also a great website for gamers, http://gameburnworld.com. It has some nifty tools to 'resolve' these problems. They have a specific tool for download called 'Unsecurom' and it should fix your problem if you determine that it is not a media related issue. Link to Unsecureom = http://www.gameburnworld.com/dl/dl3.php?file=UnSecuromNTv1.0.rar. I haven't tested the product, so I make NO claims as to its efficacy. However, if you try it and find that Unsecurom is fabulous, please let the rest of the group known. Cheers....Aa
I have used just about all media available and still get the same problem not all the time but some of it i did a backup of all my angel dvds and only 2 out of 5 seasons worked all the others the last episode was stuffed i cant remember if i used nero to burn them or what i used at the time but i also did a backup of all my stargate dvds and they all worked fine and i have checked the decrypts of all the angel series and they are fine so it is somewhere in the burning and shrinking process
Leewright, Yes, but those back-ups you mention are not your problem. The problem you asked us about was a particular piece of dictionary software. As I said, Unsecurom (and all encryption) can be prickly. If you haven't tried backing up the dictionary on different media, then you'll need to try that. Always use good media, I prefer Ridata, but there are other great media out there. If you don't want to switch media, then you'll need to visit the links I provided in the post above to attempt to de-crypt your product's version of Unsecurom. It's also possible that you have a hardware issue with either your DVD-ROM or DVD-RW. The problems you describe also begin to appear as something is failing, your burn speeds are not supported, or your system ASPI is ancient (use Nero's ASPI), or some software running in the background is scanning your burn process and interruptin your burns. However, you don't provide us with any more information so it's difficult to say. Cheers....Aa
Hi iatik, not sure media problems are involved since I don't actually burn the image of the dictionary but simply mount it via Virtual Sheep Drive. Seems to be something odd with the image CloneCD creates. I get the "Wrong disk inserted" message when I try to launch the image..
