@hursty: that's a very disturbing pic in your sig.

I just ripped Closer today with anydvd 5.2.3.1 and dvd decrypter without a problem at all.

    @scubapete:
I use dvd decrypter 3.5.4 and I can import PSL lists. If someone figures out what sectors are protected on upcoming movies, you can just make out a list in notepad or something and import it.

Hey haven't posted here in a while, haven't really had the need to cause of not running into a problem in long time but this one's just not working out. Trying to back up my copy of The Fifth Element Ultimate Edition that just came out not to long ago and im not getting anyware with this one. I tried using DVD Decryptor and that gave me this message
    ---------------------------
    DVD Decrypter
    ---------------------------
    I/O Error!

    Device: [1:0:0] SONY DVD-ROM DDU1621 S2.9 (E:) (ATA)

    ---------------------------
    Abort Retry Ignore
    ---------------------------

everytime at a time of 04:16 from start, and thats 8% of the disc evertime.

So I then tried DVD Shrink and it gave me this message everytime

    Error Message
    ---------------------------
    DVD Shrink 3.2
    ---------------------------
DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue.

    Failed to read file "E:\"

    Incorrect function.

    ---------------------------
    OK
    ---------------------------

    at a time of

    DVD Shrink
    19% Analysing

    Decryption Status: Not Encrypted

    Rate: 3,384 KB/s

    Analysis frames/sec 118.4

    Time Remaining: 48 Seconds

So none of these worked and so then I went to AnyDVD and even that is not helping. Im stuck on this one and really could appreciate some help and some insight onto why this is being such a pain.

Again I would appreciate anybodys help with me on this.

    Thanks

could be a bad press. It happens sometimes. Look for any visible damage on the disc, also check for what looks like color smears in the disc. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but sometimes I think it throws your ripper through a loop.

I stand corrected, I looked at DVDD very quickly and didn't sea it under FILE as it was "grayed out" and I was tired.

We can still import PSL into DVDD. BUT there will be no more "custom" PSL's being made for DVDD. only what's in the cache wherevever that is being kept.

Do you have a location to go for PSL's ?

    OR
a guide for Newbies to design their own ?

It, lQQks likle a "Dodgie" disc to me ~

Back to the store and request a replacement :)

I think that the PSL lists will be available from somewhere or another. Not too sure where, but I'm sure they will be available.
