Here is an article talking about his movie that universal and MGM backed out and didnt want his movie under their distribution. http://dvd.ign.com/articles/434/434144p1.html
House Of 1000 Corpses would be ok if you were stoned when watching it. but the story line is pretty shallow. but you might really like it Alien since your a younger viewer than most of us. Exorcist: The Beginning is a pretty good movie iam sure you would like that one Alien
cool, i will get around to watching them. And if i can find them im going to get the exorcist 2 & 3, i have ordered the original exorcist from blockbuster should be here soon.
i sorta liked house of 1000 corpses.i think if rob zombie had released it when he wanted it'd seem much better. his original release date for it was when the scream movies and i know what you did last summer were out "scaring" people. So it probably would have been recieved much differently. As for the excorcist...i think if a movie has to rely on a force such as the devil, or his demons, for it to be scary, the filmmakers aren't trying very hard. anyways, i saw war of the worlds and its pretty cool. special effects are some of the best i've seen.
heard both ways on war of the worlds its probably worth seeing on the big screen but i will just probably wait till it comes out on dvd
whats up with the fantastic 4? It looks kinda stupid but i heard its decent. No way its as good Batman Begins. Or The x-men movies for that matter.
Not as good as Batman Begins, Spiderman or X-Men except Jessica Alba is hot in there that's all. Worth $4 dollar for the Matinee only.
I've seen all 3 of "The War of the Worlds" movies that have been released this year. I thought the one with Tom Cruise was entertaining, but the story was full of holes, The other two are on DVD only. The one from The Asylum with C. Thomas Howell was decent enough, but looked cheaply made. The one from Pendragon has to be one of the worst movies I've seen. I bought it because it uses the same time frame that the book was written in-the turn of the twentieth century. The music was probably the best part of the movie. Unfortunately, it drowned out much of the dialogue. The CG looked like it had been done with something like maybe a VIC-20, or at best a 286 PC. There was a scene where this ship was fighting a Martian machine and there were no people on the ship. It looked sort of like a ship from some old PC game. I didn't see anyone jump off when it sank. The actor that played the hero also played his brother. When he was the hero he wore a very fake looking moustache. The brother didn't have one. The movie that I really had mixed feelings about was "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy". I've been a Douglas Adams fan for quite a while and I expected something a little different. I have the BBC TV series on DVD and the characters seemed more like the ones in the books. I understand that Douglas Adams had Simon Jones in mind when he wrote the Arther Dent character in the first place. Of course he would be too old for the role now. Dave
I can't wait for this to come out in the US, damn this sure is one of my all time most anticipated movies in 2005. Tony Jaa will blow your mind away in "Tom Yum Goong" - Tony will show you his Thai martial arts skills like never before seen. It will be out in Thailand and all over Asia on August 11, 2005. I probably get the DVD before it even gets a release here on the States. Enjoy the trailers now. Check out the teaser trailer and trailer #1 at http://www.tomyumgoongmovie.com/html/trailer/index_e.asp
Tony as in the one from Ong Bak? The action in that movie was gritty, brutal, GREAT! I loved the action! The plot was total rubbish, but why would I care? ACTION ALL THE WAY! =D Been wanting to watch that myself since I saw the trailer. Airplanes turning into huge monsters? It looked cool, definitely going to pick it up soon. =D Or maybe I might press this button over here. =P
@creaky, Iron Monkey is wonderful. I saw both the original HK version and the later edited US version, I personally dig the original better. Sad but true, I only have the US edited version on DVD. This is by far one of Donnie Yen's best MA movie of all times, or perhaps, it's a "classic" for both Yuen Woo Ping and Donnie.
