We see movies for senior discounts...not bad when you consider the cost of popcorn. Hear our new rap "Don't Get In Our Way" at www.seniorrap.com. We take it without butter and salt
Pretty slick seniorrap. I like it a lot. I do think that popcorn will probably cost more than seeing a movie in the future.
Nice to see a few elders on this site...some of us were born in the 1940's--when swing was king! I have been watching some Netflix movies...one called "The Notebook" is quite good with James Garner and Gena Rowlands. Nice 'slice of life' movie, quite well-written. I saw "From Dusk Till Dawn-2" last night on TV. I liked all 3 they have made. Some REAL gore in those movies.
Both Batman Begins and March of the Penguins are terrific, particularly the latter. Took them two years to make it under very harsh conditions. Those penguins are amazing!
I'm glad you mentioned that Penguin movie. As you say, they are terrific creatures. I especially like the way they keep their baby penguins warm...truly amazing. Has anyone seen any of the movies they converted to fit on IMAX theatres? IMAX is incredible.
It might be a ridiculous movie, but I used to watch "Maximum Overdrive" almost religiously. Also the "Gremlins".
I just finished watching American Graffiti, might be old but still like the music, and you can't beat the cars in it. oops, seniorrap got zapped :O
Does anyone remember "Last Picture Show"--a true classic--in B&W no less. The Jaycie character (a very young Cybill Shephard) is a classic of the cutest girl in any small town. All-star cast, Ben Johnson, Cloris Leachman, Randy Quaid, Joseph Bottoms, Jeff Bridges, Eileen Brennon, and, the woman who plays the small town hooker who says about guys she does not like--the threat is "I wouldn't go out with him again for less than $3.50!" The message is really that every place has it's secret things happening--just like the big city.
I wasn't born yet, but did it effect anyone when "Heidi" came on at the last 2 minutes of the SuperBowl? What year was that? Does anyone know what I am talking about? Just curious.
