I just saw Corpse Bride and it was OK. Visually it is right there with The Nightmare Before Christmas, but it just didn't have the magic of Nightmare. It is hard to follow up a movie like Nightmare though, because it was almost flawless. The Story was OK, it started off slow, got some momentum, but in the end I left the theater thinking it was just OK. I dont know what it was, but it seemed that it was just missing something.
i dont like tim burton, all his movies seem so strange and deranged in a bad way. and he has an unusual liking of Jonny Depp.
that's because not only is johnny depp the sexiest man alive, but he's also a talented and experienced actor that normally gives an incredible performance, never forgetting to bring a sad sense of realism to the embittered characters he often plays
way to make something simple complicated, lol. im j/k auslander, i dont have anything against jonny depp, i just said tim burton has him in alot of his movies. and btw, hey aus, is my sig better, i remember you complaining it took forever to load, i resized it, is it any better?
then you don't want to get my started on the wonders (IMO) of Cillian Murphy! XD it's a bit better, but at 300+ KB it's still taking a while to load. don't take offense, but i broke down and ad-blocked it my AD pages are taking longer than ever to load, with AOL's servers being crappier every day, more people being on them, me only being able to access AD at popular times, and of course more sig images. 'tis better, though
I am getting "Sin City" in tomorrow's mail--is it good? Hey toiletman--did you draw the caricature of the smiley tyke who always wins?
Unfortunately, I did not. =P I stole it off a semi-popular Newgrounds flash. It represents a part of me exactly.
Toiletman I was in the advertising business during my career in Los Angeles and San Francisco, and I saw many artist's work, where the price did not matter but superb art did. This little guy is very compelling and just a fine piece of 'persuasive' art. I hope whoever drew it is aware of their potential. In an ad campaign of major size--it's not unusual to get paid $100,00 for this kind of ingenuity. When a one page ad in Time Magazine costs $90,000+ for just one insertion...the money starts getting funny.
My wife and I watched "Coach Carter" the other night. It was excellent. I would like to see "Sin City", but I doubt that she would like it. I'll get it, anyway.
whats unrealistic about home alone 2, now your gonna say star wars is one of the most realistic movies ever? lol
No, its when Kevin threw 4-5 breaks on the thieves head and wasnt that injured. He just got a big scar. Also the guy got electricuted and wasnt hurt.
I think the dancing, singing man in the hotel shower in NYC was a little hard to believe--stick man figure--but--I did like the video of the guy with the machine gun who caught his concubine smooching. If I was a kid his age I would have loved this movie . The bird lady was probably the best part...
i watched 2 films last night, Metropolis, from i think 2001, very good, and then Infernal Affairs - fantastic, i was rivetted. then about 00:30 i was desperate to see Infernal Affairs 2, but i only had 5hours before work so had to put it off 'til tonight. and i know that part 3 is out next week so guess what i'll be watching next week
I watched "Crash" last night and was very impressed. The acting was top-notch on all characters, story line brilliant--twists and turns done intelligently--but I gush....It really was on of the best movies of the year. If you ever lived in Los Angeles as I have...it will strike you more intensity because of the locations chosen and the way some people think in that area. I really liked the Persian (Iranian) shopkeeper--who NEVER should have moved to L.A.--if you are not fast and savvy--this town will eat you up as it did with him.
