Got some movies in the mail today from BBO. Tell me what you think about these titles? I haven't watched them yet. They just got here. Just curious about what your opinions might be. I've really enjoyed reading this discussion.

    Mind Hunters
    Lords of Dogtown
    Land of the Dead
    The Skeleton Key
    Herbie Fully Loaded
    Madagascar

Something for all tastes in my house - young and old. :)

By the way. I watched Fat Albert last night. Had recorded it from HBO. It was cute, heart warming and colorful, but definitely for the younger audience. I'd say ages 6-14.

    i've seen these two -
    Mind Hunters
    Herbie Fully Loaded

both very good, and 'nuff said about Lindsay Lohan's never-ending legs in Herbie (creaky breathes deeply!)

off to watch either Charlie & the Chocolate Factory or Unleashed now, torn between both..

@creaky, seen both and liked both...two different ends of the spectrum of entertainement. Enjoy my friend.

Family and I watched Madagascar last night...my wife loved it and my daughter enjoyed for her third time. She's a little movie buff herself.

    Thanks to you both.

I watched Land of the Dead tonight. Didn't much care for it. Kind of boring. Not scary enough. Crappy story line. Plenty of gore though. I don't recommend it. Lots of other zombie movies are better than this one was.

Now to watch another movie. I think I'll either watch Madagascar or Lords of Dogtown next.

it was a tough call but Charlie and the Chocolate Factory won, i needed to see what the fuss was about with the trained squirrels plus the original movie is one of my all time favourites.

Awesome movie, i laughed throughout. i had expected it to be closer to the original (which i love dearly - especially Gene Wilder's wit who absolutely 'made' that movie' for me) and every now and then we were like "that's not how it was in the first film", but that's just habit, plus i honestly didn't know how close it was meant to be to the original. Not negative points at all, in fact i was more pleased that the film was quite different from the original.

I loved Johnny Depp's silly laugh throughout the film, it had me in stitches each time (which was amazing cus i was shattered, as per usual).

I aim to watch Unleashed tonight, i have read great reviews on this one

OMG, Lords of Dogtown! I watched it this morning. It was awesome! It was like a walk down memory lane. I was born in 66. I used to date boys like those! I really enjoyed the movie and I'm a female and never skate boarded, but the era of the movie, the music, everything about it kept me glued. The story line was so simple too, but I'm sure they kept it that way to keep it true to life since it's a true story. I have got to get that soundtrack! I recommend this movie to anyone that loves skateboarding and all especially that lived in that era! Awesome movie! :)

And Madagascar - I watched half if it last night and fell asleep. I didn't fall asleep because it was boring though. It really is a cute and colorful movie. I love the animals. The animation is brilliant! I plan to finish it later.

Charlie & the Chocolate Factory is in my BBO queue pretty high up so I'll be getting that one soon too. Thanks for the review on it!

To tell the truth, I can't remember when I saw a good movie last time. Well, may be I'm bore a bit but I got used to all those spec effects such as explosions, crushes, fights etc. And I want something that has got essence, something that you want to think about. That's why a movie must be thought provoking. Do you remember Mr. Keeting (Robin Williams) from "Dead Poets Society"? I've gone to the woods to suck out all the marrow of life.... Doesn't this fraze deserve admiration? It's brilliant. So as carpe diem....
Recently directors are in chase of making their pictures the most expensive and scenes - enormous... But they forget about sense. It's a pity I think.

P.S. Madagaskar is worth watching... really great. :)

Try a flick called "Amelie" - it's a brilliant story about life and love :)

I finished watching Madagascar last night. It was cute, the animation brilliant, the humor was funny, but to be honest I didn't care much for it because I thought the story was kind of pointless in my opinion, but with the way it ended there is sure to be a part 2 made. From the other opinions I've seen here on this movie, I might be alone in my opinion of it, but that's OK as we all have different views and tastes.

I felt disappointed by Madagascars CGI more than anything else considering how far this technology has come. I think there could have been more detail in the characters especially the lion and some of the background scenery. But I thoroughly enjoyed the plot and even Melman's constant whining & hypochondriac behavior. I do believe there will be a part 2. I saw Domino recently and that for me was a disappointing experience. I'd probably have disliked the movie if it were not for the appearances of Keira Knightley and Mickey Rourke. I'm biased, I admit. Maybe there was an attempt to stay as close to the true story which limited the creativity of the movie plot. Almost missed the fact that Macy Gray was in the movie. No sure if that was her debut to the big screen. As for the appearance of the two 90210 cast members both appearing as themselves(sigh)....ahhhhh...you know what, I'll just leave that alone.
