Hi. I hear king kong was the best movie of the year. I watched a lot of movie since my last post. My last 3movie was the brother grimm, four brother, serenity. By the way. I think the THE ISLAND is the best movie of the year. Scarlette johnson had a good acting on the movie. So what are you doing reading this??? GO watch the movie already.

Unleashed with Jet Li was good. A bit different than his usual, but I thought it was funny at points, with some good action also.

"o.k. I know everyone is going to lash out in some way but i truely loved King Kong. Advice though: Skip the first 45 min. Other than the fact that blacks character is the director and watts is his actress there is nothing else relevant to the story. Some may criticize it for its length but its cinematic history not and action blockbuster. Regardless that its a relationship between an ape and a star eyed lady it did take time to establish a real friendship and understanding of each other. trust me though the reason why the movie feels long is because of its unnecessary first hour. I truly watched for any glitches in the cgi (remember the hulk haha) and came up with nothing."

    Some movies I've seen lately:

[bold]Dukes of Hazzard[/bold] - It was pretty funny. Although, I think they should have had Owen Wilson & Ben Stiller in it instead. I thought it was gonna be more for the kids, but not so. It had language and mild nudity.

[bold]Bad News Bears[/bold] - I didn't like it much. The original was much better. This was downright boring and so predictable. The story was identical to the original. Billy Bob was rather tame in this. The only difference was this film was more politically correct. Remember the coach hitting his kid on the other team, and Buttermaker cussing his daughter? Didn't happen in this one.

[bold]Christmas with the Kranks[/bold] - Only an average movie. Not as good as past holiday movies with Tim Allen. It did have some laughable humor, but it still didn't quite cut it. Jamie Lee Curtis' character was kind of flaky and strange.

[bold]Mr. & Mrs. Smith[/bold] - It was just OK for me, but the guys will love all the action. I thought the acting was good and there was good chemistry between Pitt and Jolie.

    I Rented:
Must Love Dogs - very good, and cute story about people having to re-enter the world of dating. Not the easiest thing to do it seems.

The Great Raid - very good and inspiring. Lots of action. Sad to see
how cruel the Japanese were to the "disgraced" americans who had to surrender at Bataan. From 10,000 POWs to 500 POWs in three years time.

The Brothers Grimm - It was different. My wife liked it, but I thought it was slow and tedious. I liked one thing about the movie - it was not one minute longer than its actual length.

The 40 Year Old Virgin - You may like it.

The War of the Worlds - absolutely fantastic if you have a ported 15 inch subwoofer tuned to 16 hz. It shakes the sofa. It is truly a home theater show piece and not a bad story.
Great computer graphics and sound from out of this world.

For the history buffs - there have been two good foreign films at BlockBusters. The Downfall - the last two days of Hitler's life in the
Bunker. You see the man disintegrate before your eyes. Very interesting. Forget that he was a maniac and take the view from History. German with English subtitles.
The other one was Monsieur N. This is about Napolean on St Helena.
Rather good treatment. English with english subtitles for the spoken French.

I wish we had a spell checker for these posts.

Watched 40 year old virgin and enjoyed it. My only complaint was the scene with the girl in the tun and the shower head. The scene was far to long.Dont get me wrong, nothing wrong with that, but put it in porn not film. I get it, its unrated but also unnecessary. Any thoughts ? Oh and to stop all immature and unthoughtful threads: I am happily engaged and have no interest in men. No, not even Chyna. Merry Christmas Afterdawn !

    Hey bliberal
Is the Hitler movie you mention the one that has Traudl Jung (Hitler'secretary)? If you haven't already seen these they are worth a look at"

"Trumph of the Will" a spectacular propaganda movie about the 1936 Olympics in Berlin. Shot by Leni Riefenstahl

"Kitty: Return to Auschwitz" A British documentary that has been on PBS here, made in 1977 I think, It's the story of a teenager, Kitty Felix Hart, who lives in England now and she takes her adult son to see the place. She walks among the remains of the camp and gives a riveting recount of her experience. At the beginning, when she first gets there, she turns her back and cannot look for awhile.

Most of you are probably not interested in history, but I think everyone should know a bit of history.

I also watched "Friday Night Lights" a well-done movie--if you like football you'll it. It is set in Odessa, Texas which is a true "football town". It had a minimal amount of---banjo music, fat stupid cops turning over their cars, and worst of all "Hollywood Southern Accents"--and "y'all" is pronounced correctly.
