Why don't you simply ZIP (RAR, ACE) your files with a password before burning them on a CD? This is an easy method!! And.. we are just here to teach how to defeat protectiond for safe backups!!! If there were a method (which I don't know) we wouldn't say it!
You can do it with zero compression to make in maximum speed.

I realized that if you had a method, you wouldn¨t say it, but I dont understand why, I need a running vcd that anyone can copy, I dont need a movie compressed in rar or zip.

What we're all trying to say is thet there isn't really any feasible method to protect as disc that would allow it to be played by anyone yet be uncopyable. You can password protect a disc but that would mean that you'd have to give the password to whoever is going to play the disc therefore defeating the purpose of protecting it in the first place.

Think of it this way, the big software companies pay lots of money to cutting-edge copy protection companies to protect their software but has that stopped any of us? There's not much a home user can do to protect a disc any better than the biggies can.

Hell even passwords on archives can be broken, people have a way of picking easily breakable passwords :)

Doesn't TZProtection have a Linux version as well? I would check if I were you, it's a great tool, works perfectly. Ahem... as perfect as it can get :)

I want to password protect a cd that has some important information on it, so a password protection would be perfect.
I can put a password on a compressed ZIP file but it won't let me password protect the cd, i looked though the help & it looks like it can only be done with XP professional & i've only the XP home edition !!
If some one knows how to achive it !!!
    I tryed already :

Right clicking on the file ,
    Going to properties,
    Then to advanced attributes,
But then in the compress or encrypt contents box the encrypt contents to secure data box can not be high -lighted to use !!!

It's a really good tool alright. All you need is to know how you use it. The readme isn't that well written, I think.

So here is a mini guide:

    1. Click on "Open Cue", and select the cuefile you want.

    2. Click on any file and select step 2.

    3. Click on the same file and select step 3. (Step 3 is optional but you can add it anyway)

    4. Try and burn it with Nero, and either watch it crash or give you an error.
