While looking at cnet's guide to different video cables, I noticed that they had the component cables split into 3 different catagories: interlaced, Progressive & HD. Would I be wrong in assuming that this is only refering to the source of the media being sent through the cable?

I would guess it was the source they were talking about because component cables can transmit both progressive and interlaced content (720p or 1080i for example)
