When I burn a movie my DVD player says "can't play due to area limitations". Why is this and what can I do about it? Thank you in advance.

To put the long story short, many DVDs have area restrictions and CSS encryption when they are produced. Area restrictions forbid a DVD sold in a certain area to be played in a player sold in another area. CSS encryption makes it hard to copy a DVD. There are programs to overcome these issues. DVD Decrypter & DVD Shrink, both free programs downloadable from this site, are two good ones to try out with. You may read the relevant guides and forum threads to understand more how they work.
    Good luck!
