Artists not in alphabetical order in itunes folder

I have about 2500 songs in my itunes. Most are from CDs i have or had at one point in time. I am going to reformat my HD on my PC soon so I am getting ready to save all of my important data (songs in itunes).

I located the folder in the HD that all of the songs are kept (c;my documents/xxxx/xxxxx/xxxx etc...).

I noticed that the artists are in alphabetical order, just like how they are displayed on my ipod. Most notably is the ability to list a group like The Doors in the "D" section, or The Rolling Stones to be listed in the "R" section.

Unfrtunatley, I was moving some duplicates around, blah blah blah, and I changed the "view" somehow, and now all of the groups that start with "the" are now listed in the "T" section.

How can I get it back to how it should be?

PS I have not yet sync'd my ipod.
