    Hello!

I am trying to convert an AVI to MPEG-2, but the aspect ratio of the movie is 2.21:1, which doesn't seem to be supported by TMPGEnc. The only options it has are 4:3, 16:9, and 2.11:1 (don't know what the heck that is). How can I keep the same aspect ratio for recording to DVD?

Also, the resolution is 640x272 which also seems to be nonstandard, but at least you can adjust it to that on TMPGEnc.

Has anyone had experience with this aspect ratio problem?? Thank you so much, this is so frustrating.

    Here are the AVI specs:

    File : 1.36 GB (1.36 GB), duration: 2:24:56, type: AVI, 1 audio stream(s), quality: 65 %
    Video : 995 MB, 960 Kbps, 23.976 fps, 640*272 (2.21:1), XVID = XVID Mpeg-4, Supported
    Audio : 398 MB, 384 Kbps, 48000 Hz, 6 channels, 0x2000 = AC3 DVM, Supported

There is Nothing non-standard about this File.....

All you have to do is set the Output aspect ratio to 4:3 if you have a regular TV set and 16:9 if you have a Widescreen Tv set and then set the "Video Arrange Method" to "Full Screen (Keep Aspect Ratio 2)" and your File will be encoded Properly and will look Normal on your TV set...

You could also set the "Video Arrange Method" to "Center(Custom Size)" and then set the "Custom Size" to "704x304" and this will also resize the File Properly for you
