    Which ports are you using? Do neither the rear or front ports work?

    im using the rear ports i dont have front ports connected on this machine
    not yet anyway

    Right, well you should still get sound then, there aren't any jumpers or plugs involved. There isn't an option in the BIOS about it is there?

    thanx for the help guys there was an option in the bios that i had tto change for the on board sound to work i got it goin thanx asgain

    Wish I'd thought of that before! LOL never mind, I'd be surprised to see anything like sound being jumper controlled in this day and age.
