ati on a sli motheboard

    im thinking about buing a new motherboard but at the moment i hve a ATI x800gt g-card but will it work on a sli board just so i dont have to buy the card as well as i cant not aford a new card at the moment

    If you want to use an ATI card, you need to have a CrossFire ATI video card, if you plan having two video cards to take advantage of the SLI capabilites.

    You also need an Intel based motherboard, not an nVidia based motherboard.

    The video card will work on any motherboard as long as you have the proper slot and power requirements.

    That is completely false. nVidia makes chipsets that supports AMD and Intel processors. So, purchase a motherboard that supports your processor, your video card, and your RAM and your set. If you want to have Crossfire for your video card, you need to buy an Ati based motherboard and the same thing for a sli (nVidia based motherboard).

    Oops, you are correct. I meant ATI based motherboard, not Intel.
