my problem is, that i encoded some VHS's to Divx, and below 1200k there was a serius audio desync. at playback.

i workaraunded the prob in 2 ways:
    a) i give higher bitrates..
    b) changed the Min/Max quantizers.
    + more keyframes added (100,150 VS. 300)

so, it seems solved, but why does it occurs?
    whats the perfect solution?

seeking in a movie with 44khz stereo VBR mp3 sound still produces sometimes this prob.. :-/

(yes, i use lower-Q sound on normal movies..
yes, divx audio for video solves it sometimes
but sometimes i need highQ audio.. :)))

Ok Similar prob.. Using ADS USB instant DVD capture device..Sound didn't sync till I "tweaked" setting in "CapWiz" (simple capture prog that comes with device). After capture I can play back resulting MPG and sound looks reeeel close (not perfect). But when I burn to VCD, (using Nero 5.5.4 and Roxio's e cd creator 5 platinum), sound is significantly off.
Bruning with plextor 12/10/32a burner and using s/b AudioPCI card. ????
Any help will be greatly appreciated.(and prolly save me tons o bucks as I have created BUNCH o coasters)
    TANXS :>)
