hi, when i play my dvd the audio is set around 10 seconds before the video, so for example at the start once the theme tune ends i can hear people talking but only 10 seconds later does it show up in the video as people talking (it was still way back in the music background) ive ripped it to my laptop but the audio is in the video file, anyway to fix this?

I had this exact same problem when I tried to make a dvd from a large avi (same film.. pretty close to the same time advance)
The avi also suffered from it.. I used avidemux and mencoder to reintegrate the sound and video, and it seemed to do the trick.
I don't know what the windoze equivalents of these apps are, but they probably exist.

If the audio is out by a set amount before or after conversion, this should fix it: http://www.alexander-noe.com/video/amg/ Drag the origonal file into the top window, highlight it and select generate data. Now, in the lower window, highlight the audio and any delay will appear to the right in ms. If anything other than 0 appears, select start, naming and placing a new file as you wish. In a minute or two, you will have a new file to convert. This will not help a gradual sync issue or an mpeg but does repair avi that shows no sync issues in the origonal; I check them all first.
