Are you converting video from another format? (example: avi to vob)

YEa i'm converting from avi to dvd, i never had a problem before but eversince i got vista i've been having this problems. I'm gonna try another program and see the results. it may be that nero is using alot of my resourses and vista using alot of them too.

Try this to convert the AVI.
Then check the VOB for sync before burning.
Set 'Aspect' and 'Standard' to suit before converting.
It uses it's own codec and is stable and reliable.

Convert AVI to VOB with VSO DivX2DVD

I have found the .AVI file format will lag the voice behind the video in both XP Pro, and VISTA Home due to the overhead. Try saving the .AVI files in under 4 minute segments. After 4 minutes of video you will start seeing the lagging of the .AVI file. Try to convert it to a .MPEG-2 file format before you convert to .VOB. Hope this helps.

One reason why it's out of sync is that audio is encoded as VBR. Try demuxing the audio and video and encoding those separate streams.

attar's suggestion about using a different encoder is a good one. Nero's encoder sucks. I find ProCoder will give me perfecting syncing every time.
