Ok first of all I've searched and posted before regarding this, thinking I have the answer just to realise I'm back to where I started, I want to either:
    1. Rip the audio from a .MOV file, of course I can record directly from the file in Cool Edit but I need the file to be exactly the right length so it stays in sync with the video, I use DVD-Lab to create my dvds and it doesn't preview audio with video or allow cropping or moving of the track!
    2. Find a program that converts video and AUDIO from a .MOV file, I've tried Radtools, TMPGEnc and WinAVI they all convert the video but no audio! Could it be my settings, I think I've tried everything.

A few things to save wasted posts: The .MOV files come from my Kodak digi camera, I thought maybe this could be the problem (some special audio 'thing') but other .MOV files behave the same,
I use the free Quicktime, could Pro solve this?

Anyway hope to hear from someone, anyone soon! Thanks.
