I am trying to make vcds from avi files. I check the avi file with gspot to make sure that I have the codecs installed. I play the avi movie to make sure that I can view the entire movie. I run virtualdub and save it to an avi file. Then I get to the part where I open the file up in tempgenc. It will start up and run for 10% of the movie before the screen goes black. This has happened now for 4 different avi files. I just started learning how to do this by reading the past messages on this page and I even successfully made my first vcd this morning on my first try. When I tried to do it again, I ran into problems. I have read the page "How to put VCDs on DVD" and I couldn't find the answer to my problem. Please help.

um...I figured out what I was doing wrong. I went back and I reread the posts concerning how to do this and I realized that I hadn't been doing all of the steps each time. I hadn't been selecting direct stream copy from video and full processing mode from audio when I was making avi files each time. It works now. I have spent at least 10 hours learning how to change one avi file to a vcd. It feels so good when you figure out what to do and it works!
