AVI to DVD Help Please....

    Hi just wondering if anyone can help

    i need to convert some avi files to dvd and usually i have no problems using WINAVI but i have a few files now that wont work, i have tried, IMTOO, DVD Santa, and they just WONT convert, they will play in winamp but wont play in media player, i have updated the codecs and tried everything, i am really fustrated, any help wud be greatly appreciated

    Use the Freeware version of DivxtoDVD.

    i tried that too, it says
    "Exception during Conversion" "Output may not be Available"

    "Cant determine the format of input file"

    But its definatley a AVI file

    Press "Prnt Scrn" key on your keyboard then put it in Paint or any other program then save as a JPEG and upload to http://imageshack.us

    than take the last code (direct link to image) and post it here.

    AVI Codec says that file is not supported even tho it has AVI at the end of the file name and G spot has run it thru and says
    File Type: Unknown
    Mime Type: Unknown

    I feel so stupid for not knowing, sorry

    So it is obviously not an .avi...no need to feel stupid, everyone has to learn something from someone else sometimes.

    try renaming it to YourFileNameHere.mpg

    All i gotta say is downlaod it from another source, because we cant even find the source.

    Ok i tried that too, i renamed it and put .mpg at the end, dont make no difference, what im stumped with is, it plays in divx and winamp yet not in media player, i have been converting these files for a while now and never came across anything like this, it is 130 episodes of thundercats so its not like i can just get them again you know what i mean!!!

    download what from another source? sorry! :)

    Oh..lol..I figured you had downloaded these episodes as a torrent. Sorry im out of ideas, ive never had this problem either.

    so sorry to mess ur head up,
    i did get them as a torrent but they were all together in the one file, they will play in winamp and divx, but not in media player and i get the error message when i try to convert with WINAVI, which is what i use for all video files, i had this problem with the dukes of hazzard but just deleted it, but because it is so big i dont wanna download it again,

    hi

    if you have k-lite mega pack installed it has avi repair tools

    also use divfix on check errors then strip then rebuild index

    see how it goes....

    i already had the K lite codec installed but not the mega pack, i installed it and it didnt make no difference, i tried avi fixed and it just says Format Unknown, but when i open avi fixed to select a file, all these files are there under avi, so i dont know

    isnt directshow dierctX v9.0c ? and your video card drivers?
