    Hi

I am trying to put.AVI's on DVD-r. I can do this using TMPGEnc for conversion to mpeg and then TMPGEnc DVD author. But the resulting audio is crap. Worst than crap, its totally inaudible.

So following the after5dawn guide, I ran the .avi through AVIcodec to try and see what were the audio properties. But none are displayed.

My AVI file has been loaded onto the PC from my mini DV camcorder. I have gone through all the recording quality settings, and the best quality one is DV-AVI. There is no mention of Mpeg.

I have two editing progammes on the PC. Windows Movie maker and PowerDirector Pro. Movie Maker after editing won't give me an option to save the file as mpeg, only DV-AVI again. PowerDirector Pro will give me the option to save in Mpeg2 format but when I execute it, it crashes! (Probably needs re-installing?)

It was suggested to me to download VSO DivXtoDVD from http://www.vso-software.fr/, but that won't download for me!!!

Could i possibly have any more bad luck? I'm definitly going to do the lottery tonight, my lucks gotta change!

    Any suggestions from anyone?
(apart from do the lottery twice!)

    Cheers,

    P

    Thanks,

I have Nero Express (version 5.5.10.7 bundled), Thats not the same as Nero VISION Exress is it?

Anyway, I have got PowerDirector Pro to work and is doing a good job. The only thing is that it is very slow (about 2 hours for every 30 minutes of AVI or so). Is there a quicker programme like the way TMPGEnc speeds up the joining of mpegs?

    Cheers,

    P
