Sure you can. You just have to convert it. I think there's an app called Avi2Dvd that's exactly what your looking for. Search the Software tab above and go to video tools and download it. I think it's free.

or...if you're the proud owner of a stand-alone set-top DVD player that can handle both DivX or XviD encoded .avi's and packed bitsteram audio, then you've got no conversions to worry about at all. =)

WinAvi Video Incoder works fine for me. you could always just use Nero Vision it's slower but reliable, I had to download a plugin off of P2P though.

SuckRaven, with your DVD player do you just put the AVI file(s) straight onto a blank DVD as data? That's it? Other than maybe joining them? I think I would strongly consider buying a DVD player that handles other files so I can skip the conversion process for two files (hour every time).

    Hi there,

    VSO DivxToDVD v1.99 Pre-Release will:

    - Convert all your internet movies (.AVI / .MPG etc..) to DVD Format

    - Add subtitles (using .srt files / More formats to come in future releases)

    - Add chapters to each files

    - Create a menu (Menu entry for each file, based on the filename, for now)

    - Burn your DVD creation to media, with it's own built in burn engine

    Hi there,

You will NOT need DVDShrink, unless you add yoo many source files to convert.

You can usually convert 2 x 700mb AVI files and it will fit on 1 x DVD5 media, then it's ready to burn...

If you add more, DivxToDVD will do it, but THEN you will need to Shrink it or use a Dual Layer Media.

Will DivXtoDVD also handle converting Xvid from HDTV source? Trying to convert to DVD for viewing on a non-HDTV.

    Hi there,

If it's Divx or Xvid, it should do it.

Nothing like trying it, you can get a demo version.
