TMPGEnc will covet .avi to svcd for you.

However, if you download movies then they will more than likely have compressed audio stream that tmpgenc cant read.

If tmpgenc wont load your movie, do the following.

Get virtualdub. Open your avi file. Click video and select "direct stream copy".

Click audio, and select "full processing mode". Click audio again and click compression.

When the compression box opens, their should be an empty option on the left (under the first). If their isnt select no compression. Click ok.

Now, click file and "save avi". The file you save will be compatible with tmpgenc.

use DVD2SVCD.. despite the name, you can change the source from DVD to AVI, and depending on the quality of your source AVI, you can create SVCD's that look as good as DVD's.

There are no guides on this site that explain the process exactly, but here is a link that will help:

    http://www.vcdhelp.com/forum/userguides/111846.php

If you follow the instructions on that site, you can not fail!

    Good Luck!

Then come back and help bring more people to their feet and we'll build an army of people who know what the authoritys would prefer we didnt lol!!
