so let me get get this right, its encodeing to dvd right now, then run it threw Author then it will convert it to what i need, see when i was converting it to mpeg the ressolution was like 534 - 245 weird numbers ive never seen. Thank you for you help
i am converting a film from avi to mpeg - how do i can it to .vob (can u do it with Nero and how?) - didnt understand that bit
hey DVDRNUB i use TMPGEnc dvd author to rip my mpegs to vobs, you need this,or some other type of authoring software. You cant just burn it with nero.
Levister: Yeah , that's right ... encode it to DVD (MPEG2 - DVD compliant file) which will indicate that it is 720 x ??? or 756 x ??? resolution (cant remember the exact sizes off the top of my head - having a stinking cold isn't helping my memory any) plus it'll also state that it will be encoding audio to 48000Hz as previously stated. ;-) DVDRNUB: avi to mpg is such a general term !!! You need to encode to an MPEG2 DVD compliant file before using TMPGEnc DVD Author to convert to .VOB hope this helps
ok i converted it to VOB from dvd, but it said the file is larger than an average dvd. but it said continue anyway. So i did, i burned the dvd using dvd x copy RF, and when i was watching the movie, at the end with about 10 min remaining the video stopped but the audio continued, what could be the problem. the screen frooze but the sound kept going?
If the finished project is bigget than 4.36Gb , it would then need to be compressed slightly with something like DVD2One (which I use) or DVD Shrink perhaps...
but see DVD X COPY RF compress it befor it burns, so shouldnt that do the job. It said it compresed it 8 % i believe
Never used any DVD X Copy versions ever , cos IMHO it's a costly piece of rubbish If you trust X Copy to compress & burn , that's your choice !! I'll stop helping now then ... DVDXCopy Forums : http://dvdxcopy.afterdawn.com
Levister, After you finishing authoring the DVD and it is still in a folder(mine are)and it is too large bring up DVDShrink>Open Files>click on the video folder>it will do quick analysis>click backup>tell it where you want it saved the compressed file> Click OK. After it compresses and you still want to use Plat. find the compressed file and copy. If I have missed any of the Shrink steps it is because I'm doing it in memory and not sitting in front of the Program. Read the Shrink guide and do exactly what it says. At this point we have given you a lot of help and I suggest that you use RW's>go thru the guides and if you make a coaster just erase it and try again until you get it. It is really not that hard
Have we really degenerated so very much that we are going to use DVD XCopy for burning our backups ??
