Avicdec

    I've installed Avicodec after reading about it in this forum.the problem I have now is every movie I play has a box at the top left with all time audio and aideo codec info and I cant get rid of it.Can anyone help I've tried uninstalling Avicodec but it's still there.

    Can you try a 'System Restore' to the point before it was installed?

    Sounds like ffdshow's OSD. Can't see how that relates to AVICodec though.

    I, too have installed AVIcodec as I have an .avi that just wont play! I have the Vista Codec Pack, which claims to play almost everything (I think MY file is in the ALMOST part).

    The source of the .avi file also sent a codec, but it wont install.

    I tried to use AVIcodec to find out what is going on, but all I get is the "Cannot play back the file. The format is not supported." message.

    Can anyone give me any advice/information on where to go next?

    It isn't an avi. So broken or incorrectly named I guess.

    Any idea what it might be then? the file name is HDTV.XviD-LOL.avi

    Does this make any sense? :)
