Hi, im new to DVD burning and wondered if anybody could help me with this problem. Im fairly advanced but now im stcu so here goes.

    1) I have converted a divx movie to dvd movie in tmpgenc.

    2) I have then authored movie with Tmpgenc dvd author

3)Dvd2one my authored movie then burnt the movie to dvdr-

The movie is fine and plays but i need to know two things?

    1) My menu i created with tmpgenc author dissapeared after i dvd20ned the files, why

    2) From my movie that is now on dvd, no matter how hard i try i cannot back up the movie as i always get read errors using decrypter. Every single time this happens and i dont know why?

Is there any way of checking my authored files before burning to dvd, obviously i am burning corrupt files to dvd to start with and then when i try to rip the dvd, the decrypter software is picking up on this.

I am using datasafe 4x disks.

    Any help would be appreciated,

    Cheers boz

Have you tried playing the files on your PC before you burn to see if your menu works? If they do, then the problem lies in your burn with Dvd2One.I don't know why they disappeared since I don't know what you did in Dvd2One.

I do a lot of file converting and menu authoring and I have never liked TMPGEnc. Takes forever and doesn't work half the time (for me anyway,LOL). I like DvdLab Pro and NVE 3.

I much prefer NVE 3 over TMPGEnc and TMPGEnc Author for doing this kind of work. It will allow you you to convert the files(It also converts faster than most of the other file conversion apps), add more than one file, create a custom menu for your compilation so you can navigate and go to any file you wish, set chapters, compress, and burn to DVD all in one app.

It even has a software remote control with which to preview your work and make sure it works and allows you togo back and make any changes you wish before you burn to disc.

It comes in the Nero Ultra 6 suite, an entire suite of audio and video programs which you can use for free each and every month for the entire month til you decide to buy(which I highly recommend). You must reinstall it each month and then you are good to go for that month.

As far as your 2nd question, you can't make a copy of a copy with decrypter. You can use Nero Burning Rom or Nero Express(not the same as NeroVisionExpress) which also comes in the nero Ultra 6 package.

BTW, I also have a little quickie NVE 3 guide I wrote that may help, if you would like to try NVE 3 out.
