backing up "the bounty"

...anyone had any luck backing up this movie?....I get a bad VOB warning and the ripped video file crashes dvd2onex when I try to extract and compress.

It's an older movie. A remake of mutiny on the bounty with Mel Gibson. I get a "bad vob 4" warning in mtr... when I try to compress with dvd2onex, it crashes.

 

what versions are you running of mtr and dvd2onex ? it might just be the disc itself..

 

Using mtr 2.6.6....very recent dvd2onex.....the failure screen says "vob 4 test failed"...in the video ts folder, there is no vob 4....I have attempted this back up with 2 different dvd's of "the bounty" with the same result.

 

have you tried other back up progs?

there is osex and dvd back up

i have them.. but i'm not sure on everything about them... i just know that sometimes ppl use it if mtr doesnt work right

 

Is the disc scratched?

 

The same thinbg happenned with 2 different discs....vob 4 failure....given this, I would tend to rule out a damaged disc

 

Can you try it in Aarcoos mode? (Or however you spell that).

 

mtr did not detect arccos....I have been told by someone who ran into the same problem with mtr 2.6.6 that mtr 3.0 has successfully ripped "the bounty". I now have 3.0, but I do not have the dvd in my posession at this time...
