I tried backing up my folks copy of the passion, use dvd express(non-entire disc) and got the movie along with the narrator - which bites - so I tried dvd shrink and used full backup and still got movie with the narrator.. Any suggestions?
ScubaPete, i like the sharp maximum setting. Because if u zoom in it doesnt go blurry. i tryed smooth pretty nice but makes the texture to, whats the word??? hmmm. plasticy i guess. i just dont like it. the sharp setting is nice. and you ?
Hi Newfee, For a no-frills DVD's like "There's something about Mary" I like Smooth BUT for DVD's with a lot of special effects, I use the Extra Sharp setting. That's for me, it's nice to be able to choose isn't it Pete ILHS86, Using DVD Shrink you should be able to remove the sound track you don't like. I suggest you back it ip on your HD and play it with your PowerDVD before burning it to disc. That way you can get it right - Cheers, Pete
Pete, is there a way to remove the coprite warning at the start of the dvd. The Copywright Warning in red and black or blue watver colour. I tryed reauthouring but that lost my menu as well! cheer, trent
Thanks to all who replied, I finally got it without the Narration - I used DVD Express Entire Disc and it backed up just Perfect _ I always FORGET to try the Entire Disc first..
Thanks to all for your advice, I successfully B/U Passion using Shrink and NERO latest versions. Movie cace out perfect!
Sorry Trent, If you use DVD Shrink you'll lose your menus However if you have Nero you can use Nero's recode2 in the re-author mode you can clip that baby out and still have your menu. Give recode2 a fair shot, it's a great proggy that's way, way under rated - Otherwise there's a ton of re-Author proggys out there to use Cheers, Pete
In regards to blanking out copyright warnings, besides using Nero Recode2, which is a great tool, you can also use VobBlanker (freeware). Easy to use. Get it here at http://www.iespana.es/jsoto/ Alternative is you can try DvdRemake or IfoEdit. I tried DVD Shrink with both the smooth and sharp quality settings. It took over 1.5 hrs to finish for each. Nero Recode2 with advanced analysis and high quality mode took only about 45 min. The end result is that the Recode2 has a better quality picture, to me personally that is. I see some blocky artifacts in fast motion for DVD Shrink output. But if you watch it from far distance, then it doesn't really matter. Maybe I should try the maximum setting next time.
i have backed up the passion successfully Anydvd + DvdDecrypter + Dvd Shrink (4 reduce it) You have to bypass any error found by DvdDecripter and extract all vobs on HDD, then reduce it whith DvD Shrink. Then yuo've to make a data dvd with nero. It don't like dvd video!!! I backup it and it works but my sister's player don't read it. Good Luck
I had no problems backing this up.I used dvd shrink and then burned it with dvd decrypter. The only thing i did was take out the Spanish sub-titles and it plays fine on my stand alone(go video). Thanks Scuba Pete for the Guides.
