    Well, Daemon Tools can do mounting of images and run copy protection emulation alike Alcohol 120%, but it can not make images, burn images, or do any of the advanced things Alcohol can do. I use a combination of Alcohol 120% and Daemon Tools.

    Does daemon tools search for copy protections like aray scanner does?

    So from reading this post, I assume i only need Alcohol 120 and aray scanner to backup pc games.

    Use Limewire, Shareaza or Morpheus. They are all P2P clients, I usually have luck with them. Virus Free. Just make sure to only download ZIP or RAR files and ALWAYS scan them for viruses before opening. Hope it helps.

    I am trying to back up FEAR so I don't have to take the disk(s) to college. I tried using Circle Virtual CD (this gives me a virtual Z drive so I can play games without the disk in) but whenever I try to open FEAR it gives me an error saying "FEAR has encountered an error and must close." Is there anyother program I can use to back FEAR up with? (srry i am a noob at this)

    Actually, what I was saying was that [bold]I[/bold] have had luck with no viruses. But if you notice, I included "always scan the file for viruses before opening".

    @trigun500

    I have used GameDrive from Farstone and have had a good experience. Use A-Ray scanner first to detect the CD Copy Protection. Then use GameDrive to copy the disk to your computer. Make sure to select the correct copy protection in GameDrive (the one A-ray gave you). Hope it helps

    Well, I was talking about if you just want to copy the games to your hard drive and play them without the disk. That way the user, trigun500, wouldn't have to bring all his disks with him.

    But on the other hand if you want to burn or backup a game, I use a combination of A-ray scanner to detect the copy protection, and then use Alcohol 120% to make and burn the image. That is a good combination. There are also many other programs that are similar to Alcohol 120%, but I prefer it.

    Another way that [bold]trigun500[/bold] could play games without disks is to use Alcohol 120% to make them image (once the type of copy protection is known) and then mount the virtual image using Daemon Tools. I really like this program also. This makes it so the image appears as if it was a disk being inserted into your drive. Hope it helps.

    What kind of things are you having trouble with. I might be able to help you out. I am not sure if there is a specific tutorial on Daemon Tools, but this might help. It is the company's website, they have some good help stuff:

    http://www.daemon-tools.cc/dtcc/announcements.php

    Hope it helps.
