The media you are using MCC003 is very good and considered one of the BEST but on a sidenote if the media is damaged/scratched you can experience errors and playback issues.

brobear you could say I'm psychodelic but just plain psycho would better describe me.

Ok so since the media is good, i guess the reason that that movie (the one i just burned ealier today) was bad, is either because:

I wrote at 4x speed and need to write at 2x?
The Backup (the VOB files) is bad?

Or what? Isnt CloneDVD fine so i can say thats not the problem? I would say the backup is the problem then. So ill try backing up a new movie with the AnyDVD + CloneDVD combination and see if it works out.

Oh and by the way, leaving a bittorrent client in tray, downloading, is that multitasking? Or can i leave it on while i do these things?

That is multi-tasking and I wouldn't do it while doing movie backups, especially the transcoding part. The ability also depends on the system, but unless you have a dual core system, I recommend against multi-tasking. Transcoding sucks up about 100% of a CPU's capabilities. A number of things can affect the outcome of a backup, including a flawed factory disk. Best to try with another copy of the same movie, preferably unscratched and shiny (no smudges), and don't multi-task. Then if you have a problem again, let us know and we'll try to help. As Mort pointed out, the media is top grade and shouldn't pose a problem. Let us know how it turns out. BTW, burning at 2X with good media isn't really necessary and if the burner is that "dodgy", I'd suggest it's time for a replacement.

LOL If you say so. ;) Around here, you appear one of the more sane.

I don't have a mirror on my desk, but I might recognize one of the guys the next time I see one. ;) Did you think I was referring to you? LOL Then there's some folks over at IRC AD who aren't fond of me. :(

I have a DVDR04 and can't find my book....I've recorded many movies from television...I recently went and purchased some more blank DVD's
I looked up online and it said that you should buy 8X....I purchased
8X and everyone I put in says it is an invalid disc. I looked at the
ones I originally had and they were 4X...I went to Office Max and they told me they no longer make the 4X...does anyone have any suggestions? Is there some kind of adjustment I can make to my machine to make it work? Thanks in advance. Cheysnan

First of all, you're in the wrong section of the forum. But since you're here... Check to make sure you're using the format supported by your equipment. There are + and -R media. What are the discs you bought that didn't work? There also may be a firmware update for your recorder, you need to check on that as well.
