Im sure this question has been posted in this forum a million times, and I did search the forum for related topics, but found none that could be of help (likely because my question is rather trivial to the more computer-saavy person).

I downloaded DVDDecrypter so that I could remove the PAL region protection from a burned DVD that I have. I live in the USA, so Id like the DVD to be region free or NTSC.

I was under the impression that the video from my DVD would be ripped to my PC as one file. Instead I have the video from my DVD split up into 13 individual files with titles such as 'VIDEO_TS.BUP' 'VIDEO_TS.IFO', etc.

I am baffled as to what to do next - how do I gather up all of these files so that I can burn a DVD?

Is there a page somewhere that explains, step by step, how to use DVDDecrypter?

Being region free has nothing to do with PAL and NTSC. The difference is the recording frame rate. You will need to convert the PAL video which has a frame rate of 25 frames per second (fps) to NTSC which has a rate of 29.97 fps.
    Hopefully this will help:

Thank you. I see that, to do this, I will have to put yet another program on my computer.

All of this is entirely to complicated for the level of patience I have with computers. If only there was some user-friendly software that would remove region protection from DVDs and then allow one to burn the video to a DVD without having to have a zillion other programs on your computer, I'd be in heaven.

I simply want to have my DVD - which is in PAL format - copied to another DVD so that I can watch it on my NTSC-only DVD player.

All of this is making my head spin and grinding my patience down.

There are single programs that can do what you desire here. However..

When you throw this into the equation everything changes. The advice that dialysis1 gave you is spoken with wisdom and is your best bet for happiness.

    Hi Mr Lopez
A programme that will change PAL to NTSC in one click, is called DVD SANTA, very easy to use.
You should be able to Download it on this site.
