i have always liked the battlefield series but i just recently got my mac and #2 was not made for the mac but 2142 was so i made a port of it using battlefield 2142 powered by cider its open for editing how ever much you want like the icon or what ever i have not tested it with an expansion but it probly would work if expansion works tell me i do not own it requires about 256mb vram possably less PLEASE REMEMBER THIS IS A BETA REQUIRES AN INTEL BASED MAC AND YOU TO OWN YOUR OWN COPY OF THE WINDOWS VERION releases 0.9a first public release only available through torrent problem with the alias for those who have this go to the installed location and open Battlefield 2.app/contents/resources/battlefield 2142.app/contents/resources/transgaming/program files/Electronic Arts/Battlefield 2/ thats where the broken alias points to put the files there you must right click and show contents on the 2 .app files 0.9b same as previous with fixed alias download able from rapidshare now download link is http://rapidshare.com/files/89246338/Battlefield_2_mac_.zip.html
This is only for users that have the dvd version of the game cause is a little differant go to this location you have to right click and show package contents at the 2 .app files Battlefield 2.app/contents/resources/battlefield 2142.app/contents/resources/transgaming/g_drive delete the 2 files there and open your dvd keeping this window open now on the dvd there should be 2 files with the same name as the ones you deleted drag those files to the g_drive folder close and done simple as that Sorry to the dvd users i only have the cd version
I try it with legal DVD & CD. It's not work! I install BF2 (+ patch 1.41) under Parallels, then follow instructions in readme... > Splashcreen, blackscreen, «Insert disk» window, [click OK], blackscreen with purple shit, desktop... Today I try it with no-cd crack, but it show only Black screen, then desktop. Can you help us? Or can you upload your «Battlefield 2» folder via torrenet. sorry about that it ran the first few times for me and every one else has had problems and ive tried it again no luck on getting it working again so im gonna work on it somemore before releasing a new version sorry for your for your troubles
Are there any updates on this port? I tried Battlefront 2 with Patch 1.41 on 10.5.2, but I ended up in an black screen. When I run it from the terminal, i get 2 errors: Code: err:font:ReadFontDir Can't open directory "path_to_Battlefield2/Battlefield 2.ap"... err:d3dx9effect:d3dx_cg_create_effect Effect failed to compile Also, I had to capitalize the first letters of the Info.plist files in the application-packages maybe this helps to improve the port, which is a fabulous idea david
i havent worked on it for a while cause i cant get it working so any one who has downloaded it already can pick up from where i left off i have alot of things to do with school but of what i have researched on the internet the bootsplash when it starts up is the problem the one built into the game not the image i put on there so if any one has a way to disable the bootsplash for the game in windows please tell me and it should work just fine also there might be a small problem with direct x i will try that if i have any spare time BTW capitals in the info.plst dont matter and thank you for trying terminal wedge i never thought of trying that to check for errors
hi, don't get stressed out, the next couple of weeks i have no time due to school either, but thanks for the great work so far. well, the capitals did matter, because i formatted my "home" drive as hfs+ with case sensitivity, but i now moved the folder on my boot-drive, where it doesn't matter i will try to fix the problem, but it may take some weeks david
OK, so i checked MrPuffin's work over and could not get it to work at all, so i sat down and did my own, using his as a template...and i have a working one!!!!!!!!! Anybody interested in playing Battlefield 2 on you fancy Mac, of course you are lol For those wanting it, its on the green demon, just search for Battlefield in the games/mac section. Just like Mr Puffin's version, you need a working Windows copy for the game files!

You can play on line yes...but not the official ones yet - the nocd crack needed upsets punkbuster :-( It is on Demonoid for you
Yea, as do I but, the problem is that at the mo, i have not figured out how to make the cd /dvd but work, it will not work without cracking it. I am working on making it work from CD / DVD though. Any advice would be good lol
