    Hi Ryu77

Were you able to install the new version, or did you still get the error message stating that Beta Version has expired. I downloaded the latest version from the link provided but am still not able to install

    Thanks

I install as little as possible. I prefer to save most of my audio/video applications in one universal folder on a separate partition away from my Windows OS. I have no problem running the executable file.

Sophocles, just a tip... Why don't you update the cover page of this thread (first post) to provide a link for the current version of BD-RB?

Sorry I'm getting back late but things have been quite busy lately and I've had just enough time to dip in and dip out. On top of that my employer has blocked both afterdawn and Doom9 which prevents me from responding in the day when I have free time. I know it's frustrating to try and find an answer to an issue that doesn't seem to be an issue to others. Most often issues are due to an error in setup. If you could provide information on your version of BD RB and avisynth then perhaps we can get to the bottom of this.

I gave up trying to get BD Rebuilder to work on XP, no matter what I did I never got it to work correctly.
Have done several rebuilds on my Vista, both 32 and 64 bit and it works without fail first time.

I'm glad to hear that you got things working but I don't think that XP was the problem since that what I'm using and it works fine for me. BD RB is still in early beta stage and over time it will improve and it will become easier to chase down bugs.

I know some people have been using it on XP without any issues, but for me it hasn't worked at all.
Not sure why, or what I'm doing wrong, even tried to load the driver mentioned in an earlier post, but that wouldn't install on my system.
As soon as I load it on Vista 'with the same settings' it works without a gliche.

    I have
    Avisunth 2.5.8.5
    BD-RB 0.19.0.6
    FFDSHOW 1.0.0.610
    ImGburn 2.4.2.0
    Matroska 1.0.2.9
I ripped Casino Royale to Image as another suggested and it would not play with PowerDVD8 Ultra.
The red fox did show as 1 on when encoding, it goes off and then back on.
    Perhaps its a BD-RB problem.
The other programs, do I have to merely lauch them and have them running in the background whilst running BD-RB?
    Cheers.
Sorry for lateness, god I hate nights.

You need to mount an ISO with an application such as Daemon Tools before it will play.

No once things are setup then all you need to run is BD RB.

I noticed that you are using Avisynth 2.58. Jdobbs recommends using version 2.57. Try uninstalling 2.58 and installing 2.57. Just click the link below.

Ok Just downloaded this and decided to try it out on Dark Knight(which I own)... to see how it works. First I ripped the movie to HDD with ANYDVD HD, then downloaded all the codecs and BD RB. I ran it selected a working folder then went to select the BD folder and everytime I do it says "Selected Source is not BD Format" I even tried selecting the BDMV folder alone and even the m2ts file alone and it always has the same error. What am I doing wrong please help?

so are you saying that i can backup a blu-ray movie just with a blu-ray rom drive to a single dvd+r. then play it back on a blu-ray player and get the same quality play back that i would get back from the real blu-ray disc?

Any time you reduce the size of a video something has to go to make it happen. What I was saying is that it is possible to backup a BD movie to a single or dual layer disc (depending on length and how much you choose to keep)and achieve near indistinguishable quality from the original. My recommendation is try it and see how it works for you.

ok Sophocles but the reason i asked was because i am in the market for a blu-ray burner. when i came across your post about not needing one and only needing a blu-ray rom drive. so i was just trying to find out which drive i should get.

I've been backing all my movies to single and dual layer disc so far, but I also have a BD burner as well. Eventually the price of quality single layer disc will fall enough for me to consider those as my backup choice. When I started backing up DVDs to single layer they cost about $2 each. This is the BD burner that I have.

All of the software and codecs required for BD backup is either included with the BD RB download or you are given a link and instructions on downloading it. Are you still having problems with backups? BTW, I've had a couple of movie only tries fail but then work when I did a complete backup. If you're targeting your size to fit a single layer BD disc there is no reason why you shouldn't consider a complete backup unless you're like me and you just want the movie to begin playing right away.
