Which OS are you using? MSCOMCTL.OCX is easy to locate since it's in the folder with BD RB but it might be causing a conflict or as Windons stated it is missing or not registered properly. Check to see that the Dll is in your BD RB folder then post back your operating system info.

Yes, that could be the cause of all of your problems. There are numerous reports with errors when using Vista 64 and Win 7 64 bit. Jdobbs is working on that but the problem is that BD RB uses other programs such as Avisynth and TSmuxer which can experience problems with 64 bit OS.

A heads up: jdobbs just released version 0.26.01.

the latest version appears to have a TR/Crypt.XPACK.Gen - Trojan! in the file!

Just scanned it and no Trojan. What are you using for a Virus scan? In all probability your system was already infected. BD RB is downloaded from jdobbs' own ftp site. I've associated online with jdobbs for more than 5 years and I can assure you that there is no way that he would ever included a trojan bundled into BD RB or DVD RB.

avira is noted for false positives but the TR/Crypt.XPACK.Gen seems to be a real threat. I can assure you that you didn't get it from BD RB. Do your frequent torrent sites or use P2P?

Download a fully functional trial copy of Kaspersky 2010 and see if that helps. The link below should get it for you but if not do a Google search for it. Avira is better than nothing but it's not very good so from time to time you will have to take advantage of fully functional trials. There is no better virus scan anywhere than Kaspersky. Damn I sound like a spammer.:p

Avira has reported the same infection warning on 2 other versions of BDRB, and some have commented that it is a false positive, but one of those versions was getting warnings with other antiviral programs. Now 2602 has just been promptly released to maybe fix even Mcafee false positive warning with 2601, but unfortunately, it is still there with Avira. This also may explain why there has been so many recent problems reported in here with using BDRB as the Antiviral Programs could be performing a set time auto-scan fix and unknown to the user maybe just breaking BDRB. Try to use "Ignore" exception with antiviral, switch to another antiviral program or report false positive to the Program to fix the warning. Good Luck.

    Hi Sophocles.

Please don't mention that infamous food. Yummy ;)

Had already done just that....a complete system scan from Kaspersky, and it took a very long time, whenever the warning first appeared with a previous BDRB and Everything was clean as a whistle. ;)

I don't think that it is a false positive since you've identified it by name. I only mentioned that Avira is noted for many false positives and that you should try a free trial of a premium virus scan such as Kaspersky. Trust me and do this quick since many viruses get worse as time goes on.

So it's actually food now is it?:p

I got that! As far as I know it can still be purchased in grocery stores. My mother used to buy it, mash it up, and mix it with sweet pickles and other stuff to make sandwiches for our school lunches.

That's why I made this statement in an older post.

Kaspersky isn't free but unless things have changed lately its trial unlike many other such applications is fully functional for a short period. Another is Zonealarm and both are far more likely to discover a virus than Avira either misreads, misses altogether, or is unable to clean.
