    Wow, I'm loving the new release. BD-25 full movie encoding only takes about 10 hours and BD-5 movie-only encoding takes about 8 hours. This is a huge difference than the 24 hours it was taking before. Thanks be to all the people involved with BD-RB.....

    @Wakko

    Can you make successful backups of any other discs or is it just this one giving you problems?

    You never told me if you've installed TMT2 so how can we provide you with solutions if you don't try and post back..?

    There is something else that may fix your encoding issues (I still believe it's a VC1 decoder problem).. Try installing MS Windows Media Video 11, restart and run BD-RB

    What OS are you running?

    Edit: PS - It is now an official step on jdobbs instructions (#8). Once installed set VC-1 decoding to "disabled" in FFDSHOW (allowing the WMV11 codec to be used).

    Yes, This indicates the problem is most likely your VC1 decoder. You still did not tell me if you tried the TMT2 installation or Windows Media 11...

    Edit:
    I was having the same encoding problems with the same title. I've posted all the steps to correct the issue with TMT2 a couple of pages back or you can use WM11 (as recommended by jdobbs).

    If you're not trying the solutions please stop posting your errors.

    Did you install the tweak along with it?

    EDIT:
    As I said in my post with instructions: TMT3 does NOT work. If you installed a trail it was most likely TMT3.

    The free solution is WM11

    What is your processor? AMD, INTEL? I know that i had problems with BD-RB when i did an MB/CPU upgrade awhile back. it was my first experience with windows 64 bit, unknown to me but, i was having issues with drivers for my new AMD phenom quad core. windows was having problems installing processors drivers and was causing encoding issues with BD-RB. if its a new cpu upgrade check device manager.

    Because:
    1. It isn't needed for a movie-only backup.
    2. It will cause the movie-only disc to fail on some players.

    But if you really want it, add this to the "[Options]" area of the INI (config) file:

    FORCE_BLURAY=1

    When that flag is set, BD-RB instructs TSMUXER to output to the Blu-Ray standard file structure rather than AVCHD. Be careful, though. Some players won't play anything but AVCHD on DVD+-R.

    You're welcome.

    Sounds like your disc may need defragging. When it's extracting it is pretty much a disc intensive operation -- not a lot of processing going on.

    If he didn't make so many mistakes when he puts out a major version, he wouldn't have to create so many minor versions to fix it. I bet he had to take the short bus to school as a kid.

    Just wanted to stop by and say "Hi" to Sophocles... Haven't talked to you in a while. :)

    Good to see you stop by and answer a few unanswered or improperly questions. It has been a while since we've engaged in a discussion. I drop in and out from time to time when I'm sitting at my workstation, and try to answer a question or two if I can. On other days I get together with some retired musicians for an evening jam session, or go long distance trail riding on my bike.

    BD RB seems to be picking up steam over here at AD, but like the old DVD backup days it won't hit full steam until BD readers drop further in price which they've started do. The best sign that things are picking up is not when all the knowledgeable and experienced people get on board, but when the inexperienced starts giving things a go. All they want to do is make a few clicks and let things happen, and BD RB is getting to that point.

    Have you heard from Rockas lately? I was wondering if he was looking at an automated install pattern. A common problem seems to be the little stuff like installing the correct versions of software and making small adjustments such as enabling MPEG2 in ffdshow.

    I'm not sure what has happened to Rockas. I stopped hearing from him a while back, and the DVD-RB site he was maintaining seems to have been inundated with SPAM.

    Before I go out of beta status I'll put an install package together for BD-RB. My biggest concern right now is that Microsoft has decided to isolate their WMV11 (VC-1) codec from Directshow in Win7, and it was the one that worked best.

    You can always count on Microsoft to throw water on a hot project.

    Typical of Microsoft's never ending quest for the ultimate proprietary software. Never mind that they are constantly getting their hands slapped for it by anti trust laws both here and abroad.

    A workaround will turn up, because they always do.
