Your problem could be with Matroska. Which version do you have installed? Try uninstalling matroska and then click on this link and try this version if it is different. IF that's not it then you might want to remove everything and do setup over from scratch using just the links in the first post of this thread.

The only issues that I know of regarding the Dark Knight occurred because the user had an incorrect version of ffdshow. I will look into it.

this is the only movie out of about 40 backups ive had a problem with, actually i had an issue in the opening Pixar scene of Wall-E but when the movie started it was fine. Ive encoded this three different times hoping it would fix itself but no luck

I don't know if this will help anyone or not (or if I'm totally crazy) but I finally got BD-RB working again on Win 7. When I first installed BD-RB way back when it wouldn't work and I installed Ripbot to do Blu-Ray movies. Later when I tried a later version of BD-RB it worked so I wrote it off to version compatibility improvements.

Recently after I upgraded Win 7 w/a complete reinstall, BD-RB again wouldn't work. I tried dozens of fixes from both here in AD and Doom 9, ie. changes in ffdshow, newer and older versions of all apps, installing wmp 11, registry changes, completely reinstalled Win 7 several times, the list goes on and on, all to no avail. I did get BD-RB to run but it would switch over to FFMS2.DLL and like proxpilot the audio was up to 5 seconds off sync in the finished folder.

I gave up and reinstalled Ripbot to do Blu-ray until jdobbs could come up with a fix since Win 7 is now retail. I remembered BD-RB worked the first time after I installed Ripbot so just for the hell of it I tried it and voila! It works! Tried a reinstall of Win 7, no Ripbot and it didn't work. Did this 3 times and every time after I installed Ripbot w/all the apps (latest versions), x264 in BD-RB worked.

Why? no clue. I used the newest versions of ffdshow, avisynth, and haali. I notice Ripbot has to have Java installed, could that be it? Wouldn't think so but..... Also, VC-1 uses wmv 9 codec in Ripbot, that might have something to do with it. One of the fixes in Doom 9 was with the wmv 9 codec.

If someone else who can't get BD-RB to work in Win 7 and doesn't have Ripbot with all it's apps(newest versions including Java) would try this and let me know, this might be an important clue for jdobbs in making BD-RB compatible in Win 7.

Anyway, I hope it works, I've done 5 movies since I got this working, all full backup, and all turned out perfectly and in under 5 hours.

The Matroska version is right but your versions of ffdshow and avisynth are not the same as those that jdobbs uses with BD RB . He uses ffdshow version 3020, and avisynth 257. Sometimes that doesn't make any difference but a lot of time it does. Avisynth version alone a problem nightmare when DVD RB was in Beta.

bigo is correct in that Ribot will often do the job when BD RB can't. One can never have enough tools in their arsenal during early stages of a new backup type.

    New Version BD Rebuilder v0.31.01

    http://www.jdobbs.net/freeware/BD-RBV03101.zip

    - Corrected an error in which some larger menus were
not being processed as such, and did not display
    graphic overlays correctly.
    - Corrected an error that can result in out-of-sync
audio and playback problems on some MPEG-2 sources
    that use pulldown flags.
    - Created two new hidden options that will allow a
user to tweak the X264 command line. The options
    are "TWEAK_PASS_ONE=" AND "TWEAK_PASS_TWO=". Any
assigned options will be passed to and override
setting on the default command line. Note: Any
settings that could contradict BD standards are not
allowed to pass through to the command line.
    - Added hidden option "KEEP_MBTREE". Normally BD-RB
removes the .stats.mbtree file after successful
encode. This will keep the (rather large) file so
additional passes might be done (manually).
    - Corrected an error in the updating of the STN_table()
related to type of stream_entry(). This could be a
cause of issues on certain titles with PiP.
    - Fixed an error in the calculation of the new sync
    start PTS of some SubPlayItems.
    - Corrected a glitch in BATCH mode so that Alternate
Playlists are recorded and used during batch.
    - Updated the included version of X264.EXE to the
    latest release (r1310).
    - Other minor corrections and cosmetic fixes.

I have always sucessfully encoded my Blurays with BD-RB and burnt to dual layer no probs using ImGBurn.Perfect everytime. Tried burning to a Mirror BD-R 25GB and my Pioneer BD-RW BDR202 keeps coming back with 'Incompatible Medium Installed'. Am I doing sonething wrong. Gave me this error when set to burn automatically and gives it me when I do it myself selecting the BDMV and Cerificate files as usual. Anyone else had this prob, is it just this media. Sure as hell aint BD-RB im sure as never let me down.

Have you tried Dark Night with the new release of BD RB? There were other movies that also experienced some out of sync issues. Here is one of the fixes that 31.01 includes.

Give it a try and then report back. Sometimes there are no obvious solutions but with enough bug reports a fix is certain to follow.

yeah i updated BD-RB and FFDSHOW and it still does it. do i have to change any codec settings in FFDSHOW or just use the default ones? ive always used the default ones with no problem.

Is X264 working throughout the entire process or is FFMS2.DLL taking over before the process is finished? This will cause the audio to be out of sync.

Try using an earlier version of BD-RB before this option was added. It's only 2 or 3 (or so) versions earlier.

OR using the current version, if x264 stops working again, you can restart BD-RB to pick up after the last completed pass it finished, which is usually the 1st pass of the main movie file. FFMS2.DLL seems to start half to two thirds through the second pass when this occurs(x264 stopping).

Abort and restart BD-RB, it will ask if you'd like to continue your unfinished project. Since it usually screws up in the 2nd pass when x264 stops, it will start at the beginning of the 2nd pass, all the previous work of the project is retained. It will start the 2nd pass over, not pick up where it left off in the middle of the pass.

DO NOT delete the work files in your work file folder. This has worked for me several times. You can even try this more than once with the same project if it happens again. I had to start Robin Hood: Prince of Theives 3 times w/this method, but the finished fie worked perfectly. Play the finished folder in Power Dvd, etc. to see if it works before you burn.

This is a very CPU intensive process, do not multi task while BD-RB is running, in fact I'd even turn off the screen saver if you have one operating.

One final thought, this doesn't happen near as often when using "movie only" option. That may be why it works after restarting BD-RB, it's only having to do one pass the second time around.

Refer to my previous post to proxpilot. X264 is shutting down and FFMS2.DLL is trying to complete the process. Even when it succeeds more times than not the audio is out of sync in part or all.

By chance are you using Windows 7?
