Still would not open, I have a Win 7 64Bit, after downloading the newest, and right clicking on the BD RB icon, got the choice of giving Administative power and did, all is working.

Then if you don't have a firewall or some other application from blocking you then you have a setting or setup problem. Go to the first page and download the latest version of BD RB if you haven't already along with a copy of FFDSHOW and Matroska splitter and try below.

    1. Extract the latest version of BD RB if you haven't already.

    2. Uninstall FFDSHOW to insure that your settings go with it and then reboot.

    3. Once your system has rebooted reinstall FFDSHOW using only default settings meaning you make absolutely no change whatsoever.

    4. The reinstall Matroska.

    5. Try again to register your applications using run as administrator.

If I'm right things should work. The problem is that we often try different fixes through changing settings, and they sometimes work with older versions of X.264 but become pointless with newer ones. When this happens the easiest fix is just to redo setup and start over. In time this won't be necessary but for now this is the nature of the beast when using Beta applications. Good luck and let us know how it all turns out because I'm certain that others are also have the same issue.

After deleting FFdshow and rebooting don't you the have to make a couple of changes to it, I remember when I first downloaded it Dobbs instructed us to change a setting or two, I think in Mpeg2. Is there a model setting to view?

Yes you need to follow the instructions below closely. I just said leave it at default and try it because I've had a couple of fails that actually worked without changing anything, but perhaps I shouldn't have you experimenting just yet.

    Do this:

Soph, I did what you said and I'm still getting the error. Can you think of any other things that I'm not doing?

    Thanks

Go into FFDSHOW now and set MPEG-2 to libavcodec, and VC-1 to WMV9. Sometimes having VC-1 disabled has worked for me but it depends on the disc.

Alright, I just tried the latest version of BD-Rebuilder3205 on the movie "2012" and here are my results. The bluray worked fine, but it took 11 hours to finish. Whenever running an older version of this, it was only taking 5-6 hours to complete. Is there something in the newer version that I am overlooking or is everyone getting these slower times. I am running on the same quad CPU that I always run on. My PC configuration has not changed. I am thinking about doing this same movie with an older version to see if I can get the same timed results.

    CURRENT VERSION 0.32.07 (March 7th, 2010)

    http://www.jdobbs.net/freeware/BD-RBV03207.zip

    - Added a new option to the "Output Options" menu.
You can now select to output to an ISO file rather
than burning directly to disc. Both options require
ImgBurn to be installed on your computer in order to
    be enabled.
    - Added a new hidden option. "REMOVE_OUTPUT=1" added
to the "[Options]" area of the config/ini file will
instruct BD-RB to remove the output folder after a
successful burn or write to ISO. It has no affect if
one of the ImgBurn options aren't selected. If used in
    conjunction with "REMOVE_WORKFILES=1", virtually all
temporary files are removed after successful encoding,
rebuilding, and writing occurs. This can be handy for
systems with limited disc space during BATCH operations
See HIDDENOPTS.TXT for details and use with caution.
    - Corrected an error in which changes in audio or
subtitle selections were not being kept in batch
    mode.
    - Changed the default setting for intermediate files. The
MKV format was not compatible with AUD & NAL-HRD output,
and was the cause of issues with Panasonic and PS3
players when the NAL-HRD patch was used. The hidden
MKV_INTERMEDIATE option still exists but its default has
been changed to "0" -- and NAL-HRD is now disabled when
it is manually set to "1". Many thanks to shon3i and
Discoboy for helping put this issue to bed.
    - Changed the settings so that NAL-HRD is once again used
in encodes. This should make the output more compliant
    with BD specs.
    - Added Media Player Classic to the package. You can now
review video by right clicking on it from the streams
list. It helps you know what video is related to which
streams. This feature is added in preparation for
future stream editing options (like blanking streams or
    converting to "slideshow").
    - Updated the included version of X264.EXE to the
latest release (r1471 with nal-hrd patch).
    - Other minor corrections and cosmetic fixes.

    CURRENT VERSION 0.32.08 (March 8th, 2010)

    http://www.jdobbs.net/freeware/BD-RBV03208.zip

    - Added "--pic-struct" to command lines. This should
ensure a greater level of strict BD compliancy.
    - Added "--b-pyramid none" to the command line. This
should prevent problems on some playback devices.
    - Other minor corrections and cosmetic fixes.

follow the link to an older post.

    http://www.scientificamerican.com/article.cfm?id=politics-of-wind-power

Have you tried the latest version of BD RB 32.08? Some audio issues can be caused by a conflict in processing different audio streams. IF you've used the new version and it still fails get back to me and let me knw

what ? That link was to an energy ad lol.

It has nothing to do with audio. I can even open it. I try to launch from the exe file and get this error.

This is from the most recent build. Should I go back to the previous build?

hmm just tried 32.07 and same error........
Could I be missing some other program?
I have all the avi synth, splitter and ffdshow from your first page.....

What could cause the actual .exe in BD-RB from even launching?

If you're running window 7 you need to do this

With Windows 7 you have to give a file with BD RB Administrative permission to run. Follow this simple instruction.

In the same folder as BD RB look for this file "REG_MSCOMCTL," right click on it and choose run as administrator. Try that and see if things work. I'm using Windows 7 professional 32 bit and it works for me. I have on good authority that it also works with the 64 bit version as well.

    --------

You should get a successful screen, then run bd-re, if you get a pop up saying ffdshow not configure, do you want window to configure, say yes, that should fix it and you should be able to run bd-re afterward.
